Starlight Polish Mythological Gems: Dravite, Kyanite, and Garnet
FABULOUS PRESS SAMPLES AHEAD
Extremely photo heavy, close to 100 photos
Hey Guys! You are in for a real treat if you like color shifting shimmers and photo spam. Let's be real, of course you do, otherwise you would not be here. Today I have the first 12 of Starlight and Sparkles new Mythological Gems Collection, an offshoot from her current Mythological line. This collection includes 3 base gem tones, filled with all 4 of the shifty Mythological shimmers. Personally I'm partial to the predominant green shimmer of Unicorn, no one could have guessed right....?
THE IMPORTANT DETAILS:
- Available Friday Dec 29, 7pm MST
- Permanent Line
- Full size bottles will be $14.00, 5ml minis $6.50
- Shop here: Starlight and Sparkles
- 3 coats with topcoat used in all swatches unless noted
- The formula was consistent throughout the collection.Just slightly thin as they are jelly like, no running or pooling. I find it best to really load up the brush and do a medium to thick coat. This cuts down on the amount of brush strokes needed and results in more even coverage. The brushes are on the thinner side.
- Easy to remove, dry time is good, no staining or noticeable smell.
"DRAVITE"
The Dravite base in Phoenix Dravite, Dragon Dravite, Unicorn Dravite, and Kelpie Dravite is a chocolatey brown, and is based on dravite, which is brown tourmaline.
KELPIE DRAVITE
Kelpie Dravite is a chocolate brown base with shimmer that shifts from teal to violet, and flashes aqua and purple at the extremes of its color range. It is opaque in approximately three coats, but can also be layered to use less polish.
This was very close to being opaque at 2 coats. Second favorite Dravite, this is such a unique color combination.

UNICORN DRAVITE
Unicorn Dravite is a chocolate brown base with shimmer that shifts from cool green to deep blue, and flashes turquoise and vivid indigo at the extremes of its color range. It is opaque in approximately three coats, but can also be layered to use less polish.
Once again this was super close with 2 coats. My favorite of Dravite and possibly the entire bunch. That shimmer just makes my green lovin' heart sing. I had more trouble with streaks on this one, still evened out at 3 coats.

DRAGON DRAVITE
Dragon Dravite is a chocolate brown base with shimmer that shifts from bronze gold to green, and flashes orange and teal at the extremes of its color range. It is opaque in approximately three coats, but can also be layered to use less polish.
Super close to opacity at 2 coats. Its so interesting to me how these shimmers perform in various bases. In the Night polishes Dragon gave an overall greenish olive look, here it's quite a warm brown.

"KYANITE"
The Kyanite base in Phoenix Kyanite, Dragon Kyanite, Unicorn Kyanite, and Kelpie Kyanite is a translucent medium blue, and is named after kyanite, which is occurs most frequently in shades of blue. The base for Kyanite is a tweaked version of the base used in Autumn Air, a custom polish created with Phoenix pigment. The recipe for Kyanite is different because of a change in suppliers for colorants, and it has also been made slightly stronger in color.
KELPIE KYANITE
Kelpie Kyanite is a translucent medium blue base with shimmer that shifts from teal to violet, and flashes aqua and purple at the extremes of its color range. There will likely be visible nail line at three coats, but can also be layered to use less polish.
My VNL was not noticeable in person with this polish. The camera is really toning down the awesome blue green shimmer in this one, it's
quite visible most of the time.
