Press Samples, sent in exchange for my honest review |
Bee's Knees has sent me some lovely new items to review! Shimmers and flakies inspired by magic as well as new scents and a new product. Magic is right, so many of these stole my heart! In general blues and blurples seem overdone and common but these stole the show for me, over a GREEN, gasp! There will be new mystery bags available, some new bath and body scents, including the launch of aloe lotions and limited numbers of heart shaped bath bombs scented in chocolate covered strawberry or wine and chocolate. The release will be on 2/1/19/ at 12 pm est.
New scents that will be available in cuticle oil pens, aloe lotion, meringues, scroaps, and wax:
Let's Go to the Beach-a fun beachy mix of coconut, lemongrass, and salt water
Banshees Are In-hands down my favorite scent, this is a complex mix of tonka bean, burnt sandalwood, and sweet cotton candy.
Tasseomancy-smells of all things tea: spicy chai, earthy red tea, and fruity herbal tea.
Sanguinomancy-another complex one, this smells of ripe peaches, sandalwood, and floral notes of Pikake flowers.
Pyromancy-spicy mix of cinnamon candies and burnt sugar.
Glaciomancy-this one evokes some pretty strong childhood memories for me of being home on a snow day while my grandmother bakes a treat for all of us. It's wintry skies with a hint of baking cake.
Dracomancy-some dragons were thought to hoard riches and wealth so this one combines rich and clean scents: Tahitian vanilla, Scotch, brine, and a touch of caramel.
My photos are taken in natural light, sunlight when possible, and under my full spectrum T5 bulbs.
Shown with glossy, matte, and Bee's Knees satin topcoat, Hail Satin. Satin is great for showing details but still preserving some shine. Loving these rounded brushes.
I really like the new aloe lotions. They soak in quickly on both hands and body, can be used under the free edge of nails and it soaks in. This particular scent smells exactly like it's name, reminds me of sun tan lotion.

This is the amount one pump provides. More than needed for hands but that's easily solved my rubbing it somewhere else! |
LUXEMANCY
Luxemancy-a dusty blue with yellow to red shimmer and linear holo, the sister to Cold Anger $13
This beauty is opaque in 2 coats, I added a 3rd just to brighten the blue a little. Hardly any clean up was required, everything stays right where you put it, great dry time. Removes easily.

Natural light by a window, you can see the shimmer color shifts
easily in natural light as well, unfortunately the window glare is
interfering but it's there. |
GLACIOMANCY
Glaciomancy-a midtoned blue with green to blue sibling UP as well as the green to blue ghost flakes $16
This one is versatile! You could easily use it as a topper or one coat for a sheer french look. In 3 coats it isn't totally opaque on me but the final look is blurple rather than true blue and the effect is ethereal, I love it. I didn't try it over black or a matching blue base but those would be fantastic as well. The flakies lay down on their own and don't require topcoat to be smooth. They do stick to skin so clean up and removal requires a little bit of effort. Sugar scrub is your friend. :)

ABJURATION
Abjuration-an indigo jelly with red to green aurora shimmer, a definite sister to House on Haunted Chill $13
3 coats with topcoats, slight nail line is visible in bright direct light but not noticeable in general. No problems with application or removal. Good viscosity, no pulling or pooling. This could also be used as a topper. The rainbows in this one blew me away. I think I shed an actual tear removing it.

NECROMANCY
Necromancy-a dark forest green with a larger particle OG UP as well as OG UP ghost flakes $18
For this I used 2 coats because I had slight streaking at one but it was very close to being opaque. The green was difficult to catch on camera, it looks almost black but it isnt. If you want more green though I suggest layering one coat over a dark green base, like Basilisk undies. Formula was a breeze as usual, glides on easily yet not too thin, flakies lay down perfectly. No staining for me, I wore this over one coat of base coat for a few days. That's why my sun photos are in the car or show some wear. Some sun is better than none! Flakies do present a slight clean up and removal challenge as they love to adhere to skin or nails but no hard scrubbing, just some patience is needed.

NIRNROOT
Nirnroot-this one is a little bit different as it uses a glow in the dark flake with green to blue sibling UP. It can be layered on its own in 3 coats or layered over a base color $15
I've shown it at one and 3 coats as well as one coat over Abjuration. It's a pretty topper as it but super cool that the flakes glow! This makes it different than a solid glow in the dark, the look is like glow sparkles, reminiscent of the night sky with one coat.

ARACHNOMANCY
Arachnomancy-a deep dark moody purple full of OG UP ghost flakes $15
This was opaque at 2 coats, I wanted more flakies for the camera so I did 3. The flakies stick to skin a little. Application is a breeze, creamy and smooth, no dragging or running. No care required to make flakies lay flat. I really like this color, the base reminds me of Kat Von D Homegirl.

SANGUINOMANCY
Sanguinomancy-a blood red jelly full of the green to blue ghost flakes $15
3 coats with topcoats, some visible nail line but more opaque than I expected, I'm pleasantly surprised. I love the shift of these flakies contrasted with the base.

DRACOMANCY
Dracomancy-the sister to Thestral Hair, this is a black polish with OG UP and OG UP ghost flakes $18
This was totally opaque in 2 coats. Black with a twist is always fun and what better way than ogup+flakies? Same great formulas as all the others. The rounded brush makes for neat application, viscosity is easy to work with without over working or drying too slowly. Again these particular flakies to like to stick to skin and nails so a little more effort is required for clean up and removal as opposed to a creme.

Comparison bottle shots with other somewhat similar Bee's Knees polishes.
Photos takes in both natural light and T5 bulbs.
|
Necromancy is darker and more forest green than Basilisk,
with the addition of flakies. |
|
These are actually not close at all except for being blue bases
with flakies. Different shimmer, flakies and base tone.
Glaciomany appears on me due to the sheer quality. |
|
The base of these are pretty similar but not the same. What
really separates them though is the shift of the flakies. |
