Tonic Shampoo Bars

Tonic Polish has brought in Lindsey's sister Amy to create shampoo bars and they are wonderful! This is not a sponsored post but for full disclosure I was sent one free bar along with others I purchased and I continue to purchase. Free of sulfates, parabens, and silicone. They do contain nut oil. Because these are true soaps made with lye they suds very well, you just rub them on your wet head or anywhere else.
At first only the original bar was available but now a second one, moisturizing which is coconut oil free is available. I am so thrilled because I suggested (ok begged for) this and they actually came through! Honestly I don't know if my request is the reason they exist but I am so grateful. My skin does not like coconut oil and a very close friend of mine cannot use it either. Do you know how hard it is to get a shampoo, let alone a bar and one without sulfates that is coconut free? Nigh impossible but Tonic has done it and I hope they are available forever and in more scents. $5 each.

I did not have any transition period using these, but some people do. Because it is not stripping your hair of good oils you may have excess oil for a few weeks but eventually it will stop and you won't need to wash your hair nearly as often. I have fine, mostly straight hair, I wash it approximately 2-3 times a week. My husband has curly hair and he washes his hair every other day or so sometimes just rinsing his hair instead of using shampoo. One bar lasts us about 2 months of use taking good care of it. (Keeping it dry between uses.)

We have used both bars and they work equally well, moisturizing is not heavy or too much even for my hair. I weighed a couple of each bar and the moisturizing bars are about 1 ounce smaller than the classic bar. That could just be this batch or the norm. In any case, not a complaint, please keep making moisturizing bars!! Classic is available in orange, neroli, and cherry almond. Moisturizing is only available in almond for now. All light scents, noticeable when using them but very faint in dried hair. ( We haven't tried orange yet.) I did give one normal bar to a friend who was curious and she says it burned her scalp so she gave it back. I guess lye could be bothersome to some people? She is having alot of skin sensitivity in general at the moment.
