A Polished Narcoleptic
Hey Peeps! Today I have the last multichrome that Andrea from Indigo Bananas sent me to review, Great Beasts Once Roamed this World. I chose the color but still kind of accidentally left it for last as I'm not a big fan of red on my nails. I paired it with an upcoming Blush Lacquer shade, Colliding Constellations. I was lucky enough to have my suggestion chosen in a naming contest and Victoria sent it as a prize. The result is very nice in my opinion, I wore this mani for several days and my multichrome lovin Grandma complimented Great Beasts :). The red/orange/gold shift is perfect for Fall, just like a leaf that has changed color. I will be attempting some falling leaves art with this soon. I mostly saw red with a hint of orange on the edges unless in direct sun. Like all the others in the A Delos Holiday collection this contains some linear holo and tons of tiny silver flakes that add more depth and interest.  The dots are Colliding Constellations and the stamping is Great Beasts. I tried to stamp with this polish a bunch of other times but it didn't show up on the bases I chose, they were too similar or dark. Image is from my rusty trusty Watermarble plate from Bundle Monster, BM-XL210.

  • 3 coats with topcoat. Opaque at 2 but I wanted to see if the color would deepen. It didn't but did become more saturated once I applied topcoat. I don't have a photo to compare but I do have a short video that I will share on my Instagram. Both looks are nice.
  • As usual for IB, very nice formula. Opaque and not too thick or thin.
  • No problems with removal, basically like a cream or shimmer.
  • Stamps like a champ!

You can purchase this directly from Indigo Bananas shop or browse a limited selection in her Etsy Store. They are also stocked by Femme Fatale Cosmetics in Australia. The full size retails for $12.00 and 8ml  mini is $7.25. I have personally purchased many half sizes and they have a very easy to use full size brush, I generally hate mini bottles.

Gotta love a regular polish that stamps! Have you tried stamping with multichromes before? They are not always opaque enough but when they are I love the effect. Will you be picking up either of these polishes? Let me know in the comments below. As always, thanks for reading and have a good weekend!

Hey purple and unicorn pee lovers! I am more than a bit late on the draw with this post. Apparently I have been living under a rock and didn't realize that TODAY started a 24 hour pre-order (while supplies last) of Tonic's unicorn pee polishes. If you love this get your order in before 2 pm CST tomorrow, September 27th. I will link the shop and social media at the bottom.

  • Left hand, shown first: 3 coats of Serendipity, one coat of Illyrian Eleven on ring finger.
  • Right hand: 2 coats of Serendipity, Ilyrian Eleven on the tips, one coat of Tonic "Unicorn". ( I can't write the true name and still see my own post.) Accent nail is just Ninja Divinity for comparison.
  • Top coat on everything,Glisten n Glow.
  • Serendipity is easy to use and remove. It's not as opaque as I expected but my nail line was not really visible in person. I have a super opaque free edge, blessing and a curse.
  • No pooling or dragging, thinner than Tonic usually is.
  • Great wear and I wore it twice in a row because I didn't get photos the first time and it's lovely.
  • Tip: if you do this with Eleven I recommend using a sponge for a subtle gradient, unlike my obvious paint line.

                                                   Amazing polishes that I purchased:

You can buy this now from TONIC POLISH along with others goodies. Stockists, such as Color4Nails, do carry Tonic but not this one so hurry and grab one before it's too late! Retails for $14 plus shipping. Illyrian Eleven is supposed to be restocking soon and is also carried by stockists. Shop here.
Do you have any Tonics? If so which is your favorite and if not which one have you been eyeing ? Light of Lyra will always hold a special place in my heart but I also adore this one and Dragons at Dusk.
Thanks for stopping by and come join us in the fan groups for news and fun!

Friends, readers, I am exhausted. I want to be interesting and chatty but i just don't have it in me today. Is "Hey look, pretty polish!" an acceptable intro? .....Imma use it anyway. ;p.This is Emily de Molly Room for More, from her recent Anniversary trio. It's a really eye-catching shade of lime green neon, yet soft in a way. There's this absolutely beautiful banana yellow shimmer running throughout and little silver flakes. My camera was totally freaked by this in all types of lighting. I added some warmth to get closer to color accurate but I don't think we're at 100% . Anytime you are not sure about a color, please check multiple reviews. This was a bit brighter or maybe more saturated than I expected. I have a little quirk where I love these types of greens in the bottle and then hate them on my nails. I bought this partly to use in my polish jewelry pieces and it works beautifully in them. However, I asked for stamping advice and got several good suggestions to break it up and tone down somewhat. I really enjoyed the result and in the future will try white, turquoise, and olive.

  • Stamped with a dark green from Jolie polish and EdM round plate 29. The round plates are discontinued so jump on that asap!
  • 3 coats with topcoat. This was a bit thick and I needed 3 coats to get it smooth and even.
  • No trouble removing or staining, good wear.

All photos are under my LED daylight bulb except the last one, which is actual daylight.
Emily de Molly has a website for both her AU and US/International customers amd is stocked by most major stockists. There are sales pretty frequently, at least 4 times a year, I would say so be alert to that. Things do sell out during those times. Join the facebook fan group and customer email to be alerted about sales, group customs, and discontinued or LE items.

What do you think of really bright shades like this? Have you ever liked it on one nail shape and not another? Let me know in the comments:). Thanks for reading and see the links below.

Hiya peeps! Whew, I am still behind from the 2 week migraine but getting there slowly but surely. You don't realize how much you aren't getting done when feeling bad. Boy it hit me today! I cleaned my 1040 sq ft house and it took 5 HOURS, and it wasn't even messy. I have eleventy more posts to write :/. Enough of that, look at pretty polish! This multichrome number is Where the Mountains Meet the Sea from last Winter's A Delos Holiday collection. The base is a very dark brown, almost black base with a touch of deep plum at the edges. The shimmer shifts through rust,olive,gold/copper, and deep inky ocean depths blue. These super pretty holographic flakies span the whole collection, along with a just a touch of linear holo. I stamped with Julep Aurora and Emily de Molly plate 27. All the circle plates are discontinued so if you like them I suggest snagging a few while they are left.

  • 2 coats with topcoat
  • Easy to apply and remove, not too thick or thin. Glitters are very small and do not effect removal.
  • No staining, as usual I wore this for several days.

Femme Fatale Pillars of the Portal ,oops shade. A lovely glitter crelly with a brass brown base, a hint of plum at the edges,golden-green shimmer that gives it an almost olive appearance, and holographic glitter. I thought this would be too close to March Hare but it is not, I quite like it. This is still available from
Beauty So Fly in Singapore, Nail Land in Hungary, and Rainbow Connection in the UK.

  • Everything 2 coats with top coat, Terraforming could have used a third.
  • Applies easily, medium difficulty removal. I like the soaked cotton pad method for glitters.
  • Dried very quickly, good wear.
  • All photos LED daylight bulb

From pointer to pinky: Pillars of the Portal, March Hare, Terraforming, Pillars of the Portal.
Which is your favorite? Do you have any of these? Let me know in the comments. Thanks for reading.

Hey Guys, I'm alive! I've been busy and exhausted lately.I let myself get quite behind on blog posts, so be on the lookout for more churning out soon. This gorgeous thing is a magnetic polish from Masura, Zeus on Golden Cloud. I tried and tried to add videos here but I just can't, I give up. #newbiebloggerfail. I will post some on my Instagram though so please head over there for a look!
I ordered a bunch of these from Hypnotic Polish with a few friends. It was cheaper and faster than using a US based stockist but I think some do have stock now, like Beautometry. Color4nails does preorders so if you prefer that I recommend joining the Facebook fan group and/or sign up for the newsletter. Polish Molish in Russia also carries Masura. The exchange rate and shipping is not bad at all, shop around to get the best deal if you are willing to buy international and do exchange rate math ;p. I will link these stockists at the end of this post. This is a stunning warm olive green with bright moss yellow shimmer/magnetic effect. I could not stop staring at my nails, it was like wearing jewels on my fingertips,or ribbons.

  • 3 coats with topcoat.
  • A bit sheer but built up in 3 coats, not runny or patchy.
  • I used the magnet made by Masura, you just hover it over each layer while wet to get a design you like. Use the magnet on each nail immediately after painting it, don't wait until you have done a coat on your full hand. Do this for every coat and after topcoat.
  • Easy to clean up and remove.
  • No problem with staining, I wore this for a few days.

I have personally shopped with  Hypnotic Polish, Beautometry, Color4Nails, and Polish Molish.

What do you think of this mossy shade? Have you tried any magnetic polishes yet? Let me know in the comments, Thanks for stopping by!

Hello again lovely readers! Thanks to a collab prompt I attempted Summer smooshy nails, and used ALL the polishes, hehe. There's 15 o_O polishes used here includng the white base and black stamping. I wasn't happy with my smooshy, so I added the stamping to disguise some of the patchy spots. All in all this was still a bit of a fail for me but it was fun and different.

For my left hand I used all 8 these Indigo Bananas Neon, the 10th Element collection and 5 Funky Fingers Neons. I have the 9th, Zinc Industries, but I dont know where its gotten to. Winslow, my ferret, probably stashed it away. On my right I used all 5 Funky Fingers on each nail.

  • Pointer: Indigo Bananas Phlogiston Paradise, Carbon Dallas, Funky Fingers BPM, and Let The Beat Drop.
  • Middle: Indigo Bananas Sulfer Green, Diva Plumbum, Carbon Dallas, and Funky Fingers Glowstick
  • Ring: Indigo Bananas The Uranium Evil, Liloo,Funky Fingers Glowstick and Drop the Bass
  • Pinky: Indigo BananasRhodium Red, Neon the 10th Element, Liloo, and Funky Fingers All The Rave
  •  Base is Sinful Colors Snow Me White, one coat
  • Stamped with Bundle Monster BM-XL210 and Salon Perfect Oil Slick.
  • Some of these do have ugly bottle syndrome but that does not effect the polish.
  • Smooshed with Creative Shop Stamper

Sadly I can't help with locating these Funky Fingers but Color Club has counterparts with different names. These Indigo Bananas can be purchased directly or through stockists, I'll add links below. Minis retail for $6.25, full sizes for $10.00, and the sets for $53.00 and $82.00 respectively. These are not press samples, I actually won a giftcard giveaway several years ago and purchased these with it.

About me

Hello lovely readers and thank you for visiting my fledgling blog!
I found the indie community at a time my Narcolepsy was at its worst. Polish and makeup gave me something fun and low impact to do and pretty to look at. Pretty makes you feel a little better, ya know? Fast forward 3 years and I was frustrated with the lack of polish swatches available in various and natural light sources. I finally decided to try my hand at blogging and am dedicated to providing accurate swatches in as many light sources as possible. Additionally many indie brands do not provide makeup swatches on a persons face which I find very helpful. I currently post my makeup reviews and looks on Instagram but plan to start including them here too. I am not a writer, unless it's poetry so expect my posts to generally be to the point and full of photos. Oh yeah, about me. I am 26, coming up on my 6th wedding anniversary in a few months and am a fur mom to an adorable ferret who sleeps even more than me.
