POLISH & SWATCH DEETS:

Maker provided info: Starting to Turn is a leaf green crelly with unicorn pee pigment, which shifts from vibrant red to brilliant green, and small green and red-gold iridescent flakes.  The inspiration is leaves that are just beginning to change colors – still mostly green, with gold and red beginning to creep inward from the outside edges.  Starting to Turn contains the same pigment used in Starlight and Sparkles’ Phoenix polishes, but as this is a group custom and not part of the Mythological line, it does not follow the standard naming conventions.

  • Those color-shifting flakes definitely appear blue sometimes and I absolutely love that, especially matte! I had trouble getting the red shift to show up as is common with unicorn pee in shades of green, they just like to cancel it out, especially on camera.
  • 3 coats, shown with glossy and matte topcoats. could be opaque at two if you are careful.
  • I found this a bit thicker than what I'm used to from Starlight but that's because this is a crelly rather than the jellies I have most often used.
  • Easy to apply, stays where you put it. The brush is skinny, if you are unfamiliar with Starlight's brushes try loading up more than you may normally. Allow each coat to fully dry to avoid any ridges or bald patches.
  • Simple to remove, no noticeable staining however my nails are already stained so it's hard to tell atm.
