Bee's Knees June release, Cryptids

PRESS SAMPLES
sent in exchange for my honest review

Bee's Knees June release continues their cryptids theme with pastel multichromes. These are the perfect mix between a shimmer and a foil. They will go up at noon on 6/1 along with new Godzilla themed mystery bags. 3 polishes per bag with a total of 18 new mystery polishes in the pool. $25 each.

  • Available June 1, 2019 at 12pm edt.
  • $13 each
  • I've shown them all with glossy and satin topcoats, in natural light, sunlight, and t5 full spectrum lights.
  • Besides some differences in opacity these all have the same formula. Good viscosity, no flooding or pulling, stays where you put it. removes easily like a creme. The shimmer is very fine and can be difficult to completely remove from skin.

Femme Fatale Sol, Feb 19 PPU

Sol, Femme Fatale's  February 2019 Polish Pickup exclusive. This ended up being much darker than I was expecting/hoping. I don't remember how many coats I used, 2 or 3. Below you can find bottle comparisons with Lantern Waste in various lighting situations. Good formula, flakies lay down on their own. Topped with glossy topcoat. Photos taken in full spectrum t5 bulbs.

Colourpop Villians Misunderstood Pallet

  Colourpop Misunderstood pallet:
  No Spots as base shade
  Forest of Thorns on lid
Sing in crease and lower lash line
  Diablo inner corner
  Flotsam as brow highlight
  We Mongrels as cheek highlight

Notoriously Morbid Damifino mystic matte lipstick
  Jewelry by Forty Winks Jewelry

Swatches done with my fingers on bare skin. These are actually little super shocks which is a formula I'm not very used to or good at, I had to keep packing them on my eyes for color payoff. Those of you who are used to them will do fine. I may need some specific brushes that work with them because I don't like using my fingers.

Starlight Polish Mythological Wishes Collection
PRESS SAMPLES
sent in exchange for my honest review

Starlight and Sparkles has sent me 6 beautiful new toppers to review. The Mythological Wishes collection consists of six toppers with combined color shifting shimmer and multichrome glitter!  The shimmer in these are unicorn pee and UP sibling pigments. On the Starlight and Sparkles website, purchasing four or more bottles of polish from the Mythological line in a single order will give a discount of 3.5% on all Mythological polishes in the order, which will be reflected in the cart as "Mythological line discount." That includes a lot more than just this collection, there are many offshoots of the Mythological line. Issa has nicknamed each unicorn pee shimmer after a mythological creature so it's easy to find the ones you like and the "Wishes" part refers to this chroma flair type glitter. These were used several years ago by a few different makers and Issa has been hoarding some for a while. Anyone remember Ninja's Facets collection? Mythological Wishes aren't meant to be dupes, they differ formula wise and in the balance of glitter and shimmer. Issa wanted these to be unicorn pee toppers accented by glitter, not equal parts. There were only 3 facets but those do have counterparts here. This is really exciting news to those of us who have been lemming those polishes, it's a nice opportunity for collectors to grab a similar backup for a beloved rare and discontinued and a different formula for those with a preference for Starlight's ready to use formula.

Colourpop Villians, partial collection

These are my picks from the Colourpop Disney Villians collection. The packaging is fun and there are a few unique things here. This collection is considered l.e., do what you will with that information. Colourpop is like The Force, nothing is ever really gone. Lol
This is mostly just swatches and packaging photos, I'll do a post with looks later. Photos all taken in natural light unless stated otherwise.

Notoriously Morbid Dance.Magic.Dance allover lid and in crease, lower lash. Blended turns purple, who knew? More over shadow bind inner lid.
Dream outer lid over shadowbind
Sarah highlighter
My Way til Payday blush on lower lashes (l.e.)
Give up the Ghost mystic matte (l.e.)
Colourpop Teal mascara

Some of these photos aren't as in focus as I would like, taken in a rush in the car. We went to a show with my grandparents for their 54th wedding anniversary. My grandma loved my shifty eyeshadow. She's super cool and stylish, I make her pressed shadows and she likes multichrome nail polish so she ain't no grannie.

Classic Pin Up Inspired look

Femme Fatale Cosmetics Goldwater Island allover lids (l.e.)
FF Cosmic Owl lower lash
FF The Lost Legend in crease
Notoriously Morbid All That Glitters highlighter (l.e)
NM Tempestuous blush (l.e.)
Kat Von D Countess lipstick
KVD Mad Max Brown Tattoo liner
Earrings by AgAuCu

My skin does not look nice here but I did enjoy this look all the same. This is several hours after doing my makeup and I have decided that Dr.Jart Tiger Grass cream does not work with my makeup, I now use it when I'm not doing any foundation.

About me

Hello lovely readers and thank you for visiting my fledgling blog!
I found the indie community at a time my Narcolepsy was at its worst. Polish and makeup gave me something fun and low impact to do and pretty to look at. Pretty makes you feel a little better, ya know? Fast forward 3 years and I was frustrated with the lack of polish swatches available in various and natural light sources. I finally decided to try my hand at blogging and am dedicated to providing accurate swatches in as many light sources as possible. Additionally many indie brands do not provide makeup swatches on a persons face which I find very helpful. I currently post my makeup reviews and looks on Instagram but plan to start including them here too. I am not a writer, unless it's poetry so expect my posts to generally be to the point and full of photos. Oh yeah, about me. I am 26, coming up on my 6th wedding anniversary in a few months and am a fur mom to an adorable ferret who sleeps even more than me.
